Un savoureux mélange de poulet frit et de bananes plantains, accompagné de carottes, haricots verts, poivrons et oignons, le tout relevé d'épices.
Poulet DG — short for "poulet Directeur Général", the Director General's chicken. The name says it: this is a dish of some standing, the one you order when there is company. Chicken browned in the pan, then simmered with fried ripe plantains, carrots, green beans, peppers and a seasoned tomato base. The signature is the contrast between the sweetness of the plantain and the heat of the sauce. It is served on its own as a full plate and travels well, since the plantains hold their shape. It is among the most ordered dishes in Douala's restaurants, at lunch and in the evening.
